All
lifting devices, that Bison manufactures, are proof tested in accordance
with ASME B30.20 recommendations. We also offer a variety of physical
load testing services to our customers to verify the load-carrying
capability or design factor of an existing piece of equipment. Load
tests may also be applied as part of a periodic inspection process
or for the purpose of new product validation, which often includes
the determination of an ultimate failure load and the mode of that
failure. All test procedures are created and supervised by a Professional
Engineer and a copy of the procedure is provided, for customer review
and approval, if requested.
A Certificate
of Test, signed by the engineer and showing all product identification
and the test results, will be issued. As well, a Bison, metal
test plate, engraved with the certificate number and date, will
be attached to the device.
Our various pieces of test equipment range in capacity up to 300,000
LBS. While it is most cost effective to do testing at our facility,
most of our test equipment can be set up at a customer site to
meet a fast turn around requirement. All of our test equipment
is calibrated in accordance with ASTM Standard E4.
Our engineering
department is available to discuss your testing requirement and
will provide a scope of work and a fixed price quotation.
