Bison Industries Inc. is authorized by the Association of Professional Engineers of Ontario to offer professional engineering services.
Our experienced Engineering Department can review the design and manufacturing details of a customer's lifting device, load supporting structure or other type of fabrication. A design factor (D.F.), or factor of safety, can be calculated using material and manufacturing specifications. We will compare the calculation results and construction details against industry standards and applicable regulations. We will apply the seal of a Professional Engineer to the drawings, if they are found in compliance. If not, Bison will advise on the changes required to comply.

If customer drawings are provided in AutoCad format, Bison will make the required changes and return the drawings in PDF format, with the digital signature of a Professional Engineer. In addition to this convenient, electronic file format, Bison will provide a hard copy with the original seal.

Bison can also certify a device manufactured by others if the device bears the nameplate of a known, compliant manufacturer or if full manufacturing drawings are provided. Bison would perform a proof test and a thorough inspection of the device and apply appropriate identification and warning labels. A Certificate of Test, signed by a Professional Engineer, is provided for each device certification.

Bison retains, indefinitely, a file on all certified drawings and customer devices we certify.
